Thanks. Do you want to participate in a Johns Hopkins Study? We are conducting a research study to learn more about what first responders think about helping people with mental illness during a disaster. We will use the information to develop training for first responders about mental illness and helping people with mental illness during and following a disaster. To participate, you need to complete an ANONYMOUS ONLINE SURVEY. The survey will ask questions about: 1) your attitudes towards people with mental illness in the event that a disaster occurs in this region; 2) your thoughts about a made-up person who has mental illness. The survey takes about 20 minutes to complete. OPTIONAL: If you complete the survey, you may also join a focus group (a group discussion) with other first responders and researchers to talk about the same topics covered in the survey. It will be held either at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore MD, or a location that is convenient for you. The focus group will last about 1 hour. You will be paid: • $10.00 gift card for completing the survey. • Additional $20.00 gift card for participating in the focus group. Your participation is voluntary. You do not have to join the study. It is not part of your job. Your responses on the survey will be anonymous and your responses in the focus group will be kept confidential.
