Dear Hall of Fame Committee Members,

  It is my pleasure to place the name of J. David Ayres, Arundel Volunteer Fire Company, as a nominee for the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association Hall of Fame Award. David exemplifies the leadership traits and technical capabilities that are necessary to direct a volunteer company on a day to day basis. As Chief of the Arundel Volunteer Fire Company, he has regularly sought to move his company forward through regular training and equipment upgrades. He was recognized for his contributions by Anne Arundel County in 2006 with the award of the “John ‘Johnny Boy’ Weedon Smith Volunteer Station Commander of the Year Award”. In recognition of his past service to the Arundel Volunteer Fire Company, the citizens of the greater Crofton area, and to the fire service across Anne Arundel County, it is my pleasure to place David’s name into nomination for your consideration of the Hall of Fame Award.
