To. Hall of Fame Committee
The Glen Burnie Volunteer Fire Company wishes to nominate John Franklin Davies, Jr. for consideration to the Hall of Fame.
John has been a member since 1955. He has served as Firefighter, Ambulance Lieutenant, Lieutenant, and all administrative offices. Currently he serves on our Board of Directors and is our company Historian.
For eleven years John carried the Anne Arundel County pager for on call service as the American Red Cross Disaster Representative for our county. He has been a Delegate to the County Association for forty years and a Delegate to the Maryland State Firemens Association for the last twenty years.
Making sure we always get information from the county meeting about what we need to do is John’s job. He always comes back with our paper work and whatever we need when the active responders can’t attend meetings. He has served on the old Executive Committee for at least twelve years. John served the community by working with the Glen Burnie Improvement Association since 1960. He took a five year term as Cub Scout Leader for Richard Henry Lee Elementary School and serves the community Church of God as Board of Director, Treasurer and Head Usher.
Serving the Community, Our Department, The Anne Arundel County Fire Department, The Red Cross, and the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association are examples of a very good man unselfishly serving his fellow citizens. He surely is someone who deserves consideration by the Hall of Fame Committee.
Thank you for your consideration.
Respectfully submitted,
Thomas Nevin, Jr.
President, G.B.V.F.D.
