Sharon Elliott joined the Deale Volunteer Fire Department in 1993 and is a Life Member. She has 20- years of service to Deale and the surrounding communities and serves the Department as an active administrative member.

 Since joining the Deale Volunteer Fire Department, Sharon held the office of Secretary for many years. After a break, she is currently again serving as the Secretary for the Department. Sharon is responsible for taking the official minutes of regular meetings, board meetings, and any special meetings. Additionally, she is responsible for all correspondence and records for the Department. Sharon participates in decisions on administrative and personnel matters for the Department. 

Sharon is also serving on the By-laws Committee and has worked diligently to update them. This has been a very time consuming project and is still in the process of completion.  Sharon has given her time and support for all of our fundraising events, such as the annual week long carnival, July 4^th at Herrington Harbour, and the 10-day haunted house. She serves in many capacities at these fundraisers. For example, she may be found at the ticket table greeting our patrons at our oyster roast and working in the kitchen selling food at the carnival. Sharon is always willing to serve in any capacity where she is needed.  Over the years, she has received many Department awards for her service hours involving fundraising activities.

 Sharon has been active in the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association serving as a delegate for over 15-years and has faithfully attended the monthly meetings. 

She has served as one of Deale’s delegates to the Maryland State Volunteer Firemen’s Association annual convention.

Sharon has a true heart for service and this is evident by the number of hours she volunteers to the Department. She continues to serve and has helped to ensure Deale remains an active volunteer fire department and a vital part of the community they serve.
