Timothy J. Hall, Sr.
Past President 2016-2018

Timothy J. Hall, Sr. (known as Tim Hall) became a member of the Lake Shore VFC (LSVFC) in February 2004 and received his Life Membership for 20 years of fire service.  He is a very active member and has held the position of Chief since 2007.  He is a Fire Officer III, Firefighter II, FADO, and EMT.  He held the position of Assistant Chief for 2-years.  Tim was a member of the Earleigh Heights VFC from 1996 to 2002 where held the position of Lieutenant in 2002.

Chief Hall always encourages members to obtain training and mentored new firefighters as they finished Firefighter I classes.  He always went above and beyond the duties required of him which often caused him to miss many family events.  Tim recruited many members during his years at LSVFC to include his wife Lisa, son Timothy Jr., and daughter Annette who is following in her father’s footsteps as a Lieutenant at LSVFC.  He mentors his grandson Timothy Hall, III who will hopefully follow the family tradition.

Chief Hall is assigned to the Friday Night Duty Crew where it is not uncommon to see him participating in work details around the station and community.  From hose testing and washing down the engine bays to mowing the lawn and cleaning the parking lot, anything is possible.  He is a hands-on officer.  He leads by example and will not ask anyone to do anything he would not do himself.  He is a go-getter within the company and is currently involved in raising funds for the anticipated new hall at LSVFC.

Tim has been recognized as one of the Top 5 Fire Responders and Top 5 Standbys.  He also ranked number one in EMS and engine responses until the company excluded officers from receiving these awards.  He received Firefighter of the Year in 2011 and has received many recognition awards for his “behind the scene” work he performed within the company.

Tim is currently serving as President of the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association.  He previously served as First and Second Vice President.  During his term as President, he was instrumental in keeping members up-to-date on proposed changes being made to the Length of Service Award Program and ultimately supported the bill which better aids active members of the fire service.  He served on the EMS and Ways and Means committees for the Association. 

Tim received his Bachelor’s degree in Fire Services from Columbia Southern University.  This degree lead to his promotion as a Fire Inspector at the United States Naval Academy.
