AACVFA ???????Chaplain 2002-2021

Dear Mr. Seibel

As President of the Arundel Volunteer Fire Department I am pleased to submit Carene Housenfluck for the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association Hall of Fame.

Carene joined the AVFD in October 1988. For the past sixteen years she has been the President of the AVFD Ladies Auxiliary. At the same time she has also been the AVFD Treasurer. An extremely important position that is both time and labor intensive. Simultaneously, she has been a member of the AVFD Board of Directors.

Carene is also a member of the Anne Arundel County Ladies Auxiliary. She has been Flag Bearer, Guard, Assistant Chaplain, Chaplain, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President and President 2000-2001. Currently she is Chaplain and Chairperson for the Ways & Means committee.

The year that Carene was Chaplain for the Ladies Auxiliary to the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association she instituted an annual memorial service which is held during the county convention.

Carene has been very active with the Maryland State Firemen’s Association. She has also been working with the Maryland Fire-Rescue Service Memorial Foundation, Inc. She is also on the Pins & Badges Committee for the State Ladies Auxiliary.

We feel that she exemplifies the spirit, dedication and hard work without which a volunteer department cannot run. Thank you for your consideration of this outstanding candidate. If you have any questions please contact me.

Sincerely,
Todd Gagnon
President AVFD
