EDWARD G. KAISER
Ed Kaiser was a Life Member of the Riviera Beach Volunteer Fire Company. Even though he was a quiet person, he was very active and was known as the “Radio Man” due to his knowledge of communications. When there was a communications problem, Ed was the one to call. He worked bingos, carnivals, and his help could always be counted on for whatever was needed at the fire house. He actively rode the ambulance and was on the National Rescue Team with Boots Raynor and Norman Rowens and other members of Riviera Beach.
Ed was active in the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firemen’s Association and was a regular at the meetings and conventions. He was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1999.
Ed was active in the Maryland State Firemen’s Association and never missed a convention in Ocean City.
Ed’s mother, Pat Bassford, was a Life Member of the Riviera Beach Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Ed died from cancer in 1987 at the age of 60.
