Emory R. “Sarge” Kopf, Sr.

Emory R. “Sarge” Kopf, Sr. formerly of Arnold, MD died of a heart attack March 2, 1975 in Stuart, FL. He had served with the rank of Sergeant with the Baltimore Park Police. He was a Life Member of the Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company with 35 years of service. He was a Past President of the company and served as the Assistant Chief for five years during the 1950s. He was President of the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firemen’s Association 1957-1958, and served on the Training Committee to Anne Arundel County which did the research and planning for the Anne Arundel County Training and Communications Building in Millersville, MD. During World War II he organized and led the Junior Firefighter program for the Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company. Before retiring he was a sales representative for the Ward LaFrance fire apparatus company. He also was an Instructor for the University of Maryland Fire Service Extension, and served as a Forest Ranger for the State of Maryland.
