Paul McGinnis

  The members of the Glen Burnie Volunteer Fire Department respectfully nominate our Vice President, Paul McGinnis for the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association Hall of Fame. As an active member for 39 years, he’s a model for all young firefighters to continue serving your community after you have aged and begun to collect your LOSAP.  “Pops”, as he is affectionately known, drives two nights per week and whenever his job permits.

  Over the years, Paul has served as a Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, and Deputy Chief in suppression. He has also been a member of the Board of Directors and Vice President for almost twenty years. Over the years, he has attended as many county meetings as his job has allowed.

  He has taken responsibility for the Anne Arundel County Alarmers cards for almost 20 years and yearly sells the Bessie Marshall Fundraiser tickets for the State Association Ladies Auxiliary. In addition, Paul has been a delegate for the Maryland State Firemen’s Association for over 25 years.

  His job as an over the road truck driver makes it impossible for him to accept a position with the County Association. However, his tireless efforts and strong work ethics at the age of 62 are fine examples for all of the volunteers to model themselves after.

  Paul would be a fine example to represent the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association Hall of Fame. He’s a really dedicated man who we believe is deserving of this honor and recognition. Thanks for your consideration of “Pops”.
