PAUL MILLS
Paul has been an active member of the Woodland Beach Fire Department for 33-years. Earlier in his career, Paul was a very active firefighter and EMT. He served as Lieutenant, Captain, and Assistant Chief on the operational side. He excelled at both ends of the fire service. He was always near or at the top of the list for responses to fire and ambulance calls for many years. However, a major health problem caused him to shift to administrative responsibilities.
Paul is now in his 30th year as Treasurer of the Company’s County budgeted funds. His audited books are always accurate and balanced to the penny. He also served as President for 1-year.
Paul was also very active in the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association, rarely missing a meeting, and served as an active delegate for the department. For many years, he was the Association’s official photographer with many of his photos appearing in the convention books. Paul was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 2003.
Paul also served as a delegate to the Maryland State Firemen’s Association. He generously gave of his time and talent to produce results on several committees. He is currently serving on the Historical and Archives committee and has been for over 10-years. Each year at the MSFA Convention and Conference in Ocean City, Paul displays news articles that he collects throughout the year on news boards.
