William G. Rothamel
William G. Rothamel was one of the group of men who gathered to form what would become the Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company in 1944. He worked tirelessly to help raise funds for the company and was usually the top collector on door-to-door fund drives. He trained as a firefighter but could be found in the kitchen cooking and serving at fundraising affairs as well. In later years, he turned to the administrative side of the company. He was a Board of Director’s member for many years and served as President most of those years. He went by the rules at all times. If a penny was found on the floor or parking lot, it was recorded as a one cent donation. He dedicated most of his spare time to the betterment of the company where he was proud to be a founding father and life member.
William was active in the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firemen’s Association. He served as Chaplain in 1951. He was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1998.
