Dear Hall of Fame Committee Members,

  It is my pleasure to place the name of Walter Snyder, Orchard Beach Volunteer Fire Company, as a nominee for the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association Hall of Fame Award. For many of us, Walt is the only Chief of the Orchard Beach Volunteer Fire Company that we have ever known, having served for many years in this position. Despite his long tenure, Walt shows no signs of letting up, remaining active in his suppression role as well as a key leader within the volunteer fire service in our county. In the past year, Walt represented the Anne Arundel County volunteer fire service as an appointee to the County Executive Leopold Public Safety Transition Team.   In recognition of his past service to the Orchard Beach Volunteer Fire Company, the citizens of the greater Orchard Beach area, and to the fire service across Anne Arundel County, it is my pleasure to place Walt’s name into nomination for your consideration for the Hall of Fame Award.

  On behalf of the Orchard Beach Volunteer Fire Company Board of Directors and the entire membership, we would like to nominate Walt Snyder to the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association Hall of Fame.

  Walt has dedicated more than forty-five years of his life to the citizens of Anne Arundel County. Later this year Chief Snyder will celebrate his thirtieth year as Chief of the Orchard Beach Volunteer Fire Company. We are proud to be represented by such a dedicated and experienced man. Early this year, Walt helped to represent the volunteers of this county by sitting on the Transition Team for the newly elected County Executive. With his knowledge and experience he was very instrumental in bridging the gap between the career and volunteer firefighters while maintaining an outstanding relationship with the past and current administration. Because of this we feel he is a worthy candidate for your prestigious honor.
