Past President 1994-1996

The Arundel Volunteer Fire Department wishes to nominate Arthur Spencer for the Hall of Fame of the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association. Art joined the Arundel VFD on April 21, 1964 at the age of fourteen and has been an active and dedicated member since that time. During the course of his time with company 7, he has achieved the ranks of Emergency Medical Technician, Firefighter, Lieutenant, and Chief.

In addition to his service to the community as a firefighter and EMT, he has also served as President, member and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Not only has Mr. Spencer given these years to the Arundel Volunteer Fire Department, he has also served as President (1994-1996) of the Anne Arundel Volunteer Firefighters Association, where under his leadership the association purchase the first and only Fire Safety Trailer. This new tool in the education of the public in fire safety has proven to be a very great asset to the volunteer companies and the career fire prevention office. The trailer and the fire prevention committee are always on demand by communities and groups. Arthur also serves on several committees of the Maryland State Firemen’s Association.

  It gives us great pride to have the opportunity to request that Arthur Spencer should be honored for his many years of dedication by being accepted in to the Hall of Fame.
