Jeffrey S. Wade, Sr. and President Paul J. Demasky, Jr.

Jeff Wade is a Life Member of the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company, initially joining in March 1974 and has served in many operational and administrative capacities over the last 41-years.  He has completed all required fire, emergency medical, driver/operator, and leadership courses, ultimately rising to the rank of Lieutenant.  Although no longer active in an operational role, Jeff remains active in an administrative capacity with the fire company.

Jeff has also served several positions on the Board of Directors throughout his membership and presently remains active on several committees.  He currently serves as the Hall Manager and arranges the use and rental of the hall and Training Building.  This requires him to be regularly available to respond to citizen requests for use of the hall and advise the Board of Directors whenever a rental meets the criteria for use of the hall.  He maintains a cleaning and maintenance schedule for the hall so that everything remains in working order and the conditions are acceptable to anyone who uses or visits the hall.

As an electrician and Facilities Maintenance Supervisor in private industry, Jeff regularly uses his skills to assist with maintenance projects of the fire company’s aging facility with increasing regularity.  He is and has been a key member of the Facilities Maintenance Committee for many years.  His services have saved countless dollars that might otherwise have been expended to outside vendors.

At each carnival for now over 20-years, Jeff and his family can be found busy at work managing the funnel cake stand.  The homemade funnel cakes have become a popular item at our carnival and many people stop by just to purchase several funnel cakes to take home.  This one stand brings in almost one-half as much income to the carnival as the entire food sales.  Without Jeff’s leadership and without the support of his family who assist in working the stand, the success of the carnival and this one stand would not be possible.

Jeff has been the chairperson of the anniversary and awards banquet for over 25-years.  Supervising all aspects of planning, awards, menu, catering, and entertainment, he is responsible for the success and popularity of this important event.

Jeff has contributed immeasurably to the success of the fire company over 40-years.  He remains one of the most dedicated and capable members.  He has been a positive role model for the younger members, with his willing spirit and positive attitude.
