Carroll S. Wagner, Chief
The Herald Harbor Volunteer Fire Department would like to submit the name of Carroll S. Wagner to the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association Hall of Fame.
Carroll’s occupation of driving Mobil fuel tanker trucks is very dangerous and requires long hours. In spite of this he was able to respond to calls averaging 200 a year in number for a period covering nearly 30 years of service to his community. His friendly demeanor turned serious when called upon in handling any situation. He is a valued and respected member of our community who was not afraid to make the hard decisions required of a leader. We believe that his years of service to the community and the recognition of his leadership, reflected in his tenure as Chief, deem him worthy of a spot in the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association Hall of Fame.
Carroll has achieved certifications as a Firefighter I, II, and III, FADO, Fire Officer I and II.
He has been a member of the Herald Harbor Volunteer Fire Department since 1968 and has held the offices of Treasurer, Vice President, Board Member, Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, and Appointed Chief in 1980.
Respectfully
Ray Gies, Chief
