Chester A. Wickstrom was a charter member of the Riva Volunteer Fire Department. The fire company formed in the late 1940's and joined the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firemen's Association in March 1949. Chester served as President of Riva for 20-years. He was active in fundraising. He worked carnivals and other fundraising events they had. Even though Chester could fight fire, he was mainly an administrative member.

 

Chester served as President of the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firemen's Association from 1954-1955. He is the only member of Riva to serve as President of the Association. He was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1997.
