Harve Edward Woods, Sr., Chief

The Arundel Volunteer Fire Department wishes to nominate Harve Edward Woods, Sr. for the Hall of Fame of the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association. Harve joined the Arundel VFD on February 2, 1974 and has been an active and dedicated member since that time. During the course of his time with company 7, he has achieved the ranks of Emergency Medical Technician, Firefighter, Lieutenant, and Chief. He has achieved certifications up to Fire Officer IV, Fire Instructor III, and is a member of the Anne Arundel County Collapse Rescue Team.
In addition to his service to the community as a firefighter and EMT, he has also served as President, member of the Board of Directors, as well as Fire Department liaison to several community groups. Not only has Mr. Woods given these years to the Arundel Volunteer Fire Department, he has also served as President (1987-1988) of the Anne Arundel Volunteer Firefighters Association, and serves on several committees of the Maryland State Firemen’s Association.
It gives us great pride to have the opportunity to request that Harve Edward Woods, Sr. be honored for his many years of dedication by being accepted in to the Hall of Fame.

In addition to serving as President of the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighter’s Association from 1987-1988, Ed served as Assistant Secretary from 1975-1981. He has served on the Legislative Committee (State) for the past several years.
Ed was inducted in the Maryland State Firemen's Association Hall of Fame in 2006.
