Melvin Delbert Zang was a life member of the Deale Volunteer Fire Department. He served as President for many years.

Delbert was active in the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firemen’s Association. He was one of Deale’s delegates for many years. He served as President from 1974-1975. He served as a Trustee in 1991. He was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1997.

Delbert was also active in the Maryland State Firemen’s Association. He served as one of Deale’s delegates for many years. He was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1993.
