Cynthia Kovach joined the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company in June 2017.  She completed the training requirements to be certified as an Emergency Medical Technician and Firefighter I.  She then continued her emergency medical training by pursuing an Associate Degree as a Paramedic. 

She compiled 888.5 hours of training in 2020 pursuing her Paramedic degree which earned her the Edwin “Boots” Raynor Award.  This is the second most total training hours by a winner of this award.
