Through Janet’s efforts in keeping the weekly Bingo going and starting the Sunday Dinner Bingo, the Auxiliary was able to present the Fire Department over $108,000.00 in cash in the last five years. The money was used to pay for new equipment, purchase of a new radio for the equipment, and to update the sound system in the fire department hall. Her time and talents are donated willingly. She graciously purchased special gifts to the patrons of the Bingo. Janet was instrumental in suggesting that the Auxiliary make donations for disaster relief, such as Hurricane Andrew, giving money to a fire company when fire destroyed their building, and making significant donations to the Bessie Marshall Benefit Fund and other worthy causes.
Janet was honored by the Auxiliary at the recent Company awards banquet for her devotion and unselfish attitude in leading the Auxiliary for over 10 years.
She is a true leader and worked extremely hard to make sure that the working relationship between the Fire Company and the Auxiliary is good and that the lines of communication are always open. This is quite evident as the Auxiliary and the Fire Company do have an excellent relationship
