Suppers, Luncheons; Bake Sales, Dances, New Year Eve Parties, Cash Bingo, Prize Bingo, Carnivals, Annual Bowling Banquets for National Plastic Co., Annual Marine Banquet, Oyster. Roast, served refreshments at Donkey Ball Games the men sponsored. Worked preparing food for County Ladies & Men and State Fire Chiefs Meetings also State Forestry. Train Shows, Gun Shows Wedding Receptions, Anniversary·& Birthday Parties, Candy Making & Sales, Flea Markets. and other· Catering Jobs the Aux. took on.
Prepared & delivered-drinks & food to. the fire locations during our brush fires we had each spring and any two alarm fires our boys responded to.
Worked with the Red Cross at a large apartment fire in Glen Burnie working afternoon, evening of fire, night, next day with Red Cross registering residents where they were staying so we could tell families where they could be located. Took part in Memorial Day Services that the Ladies Aux. and Firemen ·had at Nichols Bethel Church in the 50's. Ladies dressed in Uniform (Marching Unit Uniform) & men in their full dress uniform, also participated in the Special Firemen & Ladies Fire Prevention Services at Nichols Bethel Church dressed in uniform.
Doris marched in the Ladies Marching Unit for Firemen Parades at Annual carnivals, in our County plus State wide. Paraded in the Maryland Day.I Am An American Day Parade. Starting Fire Prevention Week in Baltimore City and Maryland State Fair opening. Doris and the Ladies also marched at the Md. State Firemen’s Convention at Ocean City a couple of years. Also attended the Maryland State Firemen’s Convention a number of years. Also marched in the A.A. County Convention Parade a number of years with the Odenton Ladies Marching· Unit.
