Mary C. Eades
Orchard Beach

  Mary C. Eades was a Charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Orchard Beach Volunteer Fire Department which organizes in October 1936. She served the organization well for many years, holding the office of Secretary and working on the committees to prepare and serve dinners for both the Fire Department and the Auxiliary. She participated in all events sponsored by the Fire Department and the Auxiliary until health problems would not permit her to do so.

  Mary was the recipient of many special honors, including a Governor’s Citation commemorating her fiftieth Anniversary of membership in the Auxiliary, a Maryland Senatorial Citation for sixty-two years of dedicated service, an Anne Arundel County Council Citation for her dedication and service. She was also one of the Auxiliary members recognized for purchasing and presenting Thermal Imaging equipment to the Fire Department. Mary has received many awards of recognition from both the Orchard Beach Volunteer Fire Department and the Ladies Auxiliary.

  Mary was the only living Charter Member of the Orchard Beach Ladies Auxiliary and regularly attended most of the meetings of both the County and her Auxiliary meeting s as long as her health permitted her to do so.
