Christine “Deenie” Fahmuller
Orchard Beach
Past President AACVFALA 1946-1948
Past President LAMSFA 1952-1953
The Orchard Beach Ladies Auxiliary nominates Christine Fahmuller, “Deenie”, for the Hall of Fame. “Deenie” was a Charter Member and Life Member of the Auxiliary and held all offices in this organization. She was also helping at any fund raising affair held by the fire department or auxiliary, especially at the annual oyster roast where she could be found helping to make the oyster stew, cooking oyster fritters, or any other task that needed doing.
She helped to organize the Auxiliary marching unit, design the uniforms worn by members of the unit, and marched with them at parades, and other events.
Christine served as President of the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firemen’s Association Ladies Auxiliary in 1946-1948, when the term of that office was two years. She also served in many of the offices of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Maryland State Firemen’s Association and was elected President for the term 1953-1953.
Not only was Christine active in the fire department, but she was very active in other community associations. She was one of the founders of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Stoney Creek, was active in the Orchard Beach Improvement Association, the Stoney Creek Democratic Club and was a past Matron of the Glen Burnie Order of the Eastern Star.
She continued to take an active and interested part in all of the activities of each of these organizations until her health and eye sight would not allow her to participate any longer, but did not stop her from going to meetings or other affairs including the annual conventions of both the Anne Arundel County and Maryland State Firemen’s Associations. She needed someone to “see” for her, but “Deenie” enjoyed people and being with them.
She never lost her desire to help the fire service.
Christine Fahmuller passed away in 1994
