Mary Greenwell has been an active member of the Deale Ladies Auxiliary for 37-years. She became a life member in 2001 with 25-years of service. She has served on the Christmas Bazaar Committee for over 35-years. She worked the pizza stand at the annual Carnival for many years. Mary can be depended on to be at every function of the Auxiliary and the Fire Company from start to finish. She is always ready and willing to help out whenever needed with setting up for events, cooking and serving food at the Carnival and Oyster Roasts. Mary can be counted on to help with clean up and dishwashing after each event. She marched in the marching unit in the late '70s and '80s.
Mary follows in the footsteps of her mother, Molly, who was a member of the Auxiliary and she has served alongside her sisters, Martha and Sadie, who joined the Auxiliary in 1976 as well. Her sister, Martha, was inducted into the County Ladies Auxiliary Hall of Fame in 2011. Mary’s granddaughter, Brianna, now comes with her and works functions at the department. She is a very proud grandmother and it is easy to see that she enjoys the extra time she gets to spend with her granddaughter and sister working alongside them at events.
Mary attends the County Ladies Auxiliary meetings periodically. She supports their fundraisers by purchasing raffle tickets that each Auxiliary is asked to sell. She used to attend the annual convention at Ocean City but hasn’t in many years.
Mary has a great sense of humor and is always fun to be around. She is hard working and dependable and truly a very dedicated member of the Deale Auxiliary.
