Kitty Gross
Arundel VFD Ladies Auxiliary

 Kitty joined the auxiliary in 1986 and has been a faithful member to the auxiliary and Arundel Volunteer Fire Department. Since joining she has held several offices including chaplain for many years. She is always willing to help out whenever she is needed. She has been co-chairman to our Crab Feast for the past 5-years and has been our auxiliary coordinator for the LAMSFA Income Tax Subtraction since the program began. During our December meeting, everyone knows to have all papers turned in because we don’t want to make Miss Kitty mad.

 As a member of the fire department, she has worked long hours during our Christmas tree sales and makes sure we all have plenty of hot water for hot coco. She has also been a member of the Board of Directors for the past 6- years. She works with the Chief and President on the Grant committee. She has worked hard to get the fire department grants to help replace equipment for our station equipment. She was also honored at the annual Crofton Awards Banquet 2-years ago for all her hard work as a volunteer for the Arundel Volunteer Fire Department.

During the year that her son Pete was over in Afghanistan helping NATO to train pilots, he told her about the children in the orphanage needing clothes, blankets, socks, shoes, and school supplies. She mentioned this to our auxiliary and together we helped send many of those supplies over to them. They would take the throws and cut them in half and use them for two children and they were so happy to see the supplies.

She also supports the County Ladies with our fundraisers and attends meetings when her schedule allows her to.
