ANNIE HUNTER

1938-1940
Annie Hunter was s a Charter Member of the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She joined in early 1936. This came about when Beulah Peterson canvassed the Odenton area collecting $2.00 from the ladies who were interested in becoming members of the Ladies Auxiliary. The first meeting was held on 17 April 1936 and Annie was elected Secretary. She served as President in 1940 and 1941.
Annie served as the first President of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firemen’s Association (it wasn’t Firefighter’s back then) from 1938-1940. She was inducted in the Hall of Fame on 8 July 2003.
