CHARLES INGRAM
Orchard Beach
Charles Ingram joined the Orchard Beach Auxiliary in 1991, but was a regular helper long before that. He was a regular player at the weekly bingo games and frequently called back winning numbers. Since he joined the auxiliary, he has given 110% of his time, not only to the regular bingo games, but to any function we have. He is the one who never refuses to help wherever and whenever his help is needed.
Charlie (as he is known around the fire hall) is constantly thinking of ways to help create another fund raiser. He has been instrumental in starting the Dinner Bingo and the All Night Bingo games, which have become very successful. He is always there to help run these affairs, and if he has an idea on how to better the games, he will not hesitate to make the suggestion, and then follow through with the idea.
Charlie has been responsible for organizing and managing bus trips to Atlantic City, organizing the raffles for our "Labor Day" crab feast, and he can be seen selling raffle tickets many Saturdays in front of a super market. He has also held many shrimp feast, arranging for the food, the music as well as selling many tickets for the event. As I am writing this, he has arranged for the auxiliary to sell flowers in the fall.
Charles Ingram has received many awards from the Auxiliary for his long hours of work and a special jacket from the Orchard Beach Firemen for the many hours he helped them on their fishing club's flea market.
Although Mr. Ingram has not held any elected office, he is the Ways and Means Committee, and his efforts have enabled us to aid our firemen in purchasing equipment needed to help our community. He is truly an asset to not only the Auxiliary, but to the Fire Company as well. We nominate him for the Anne Arundel County Ladies Auxiliary Hall of Fame.
