Positions Held:
    Vice-Chaplain, Chaplain, Secretary, Vice-President, President
Committees:
    Ways & Means, Fire Prevention, Pins & Badges, Sunshine, Refreshment, Auditing

Functions:
    Suppers, Luncheons, Bake Sales, Dances, New Years Eve Parties, Bingo (cash bingo & prizes for winners and collected prizes), carnivals, Annual Bowling Banquets for National Plastic Co., Blue & Gold Banquets, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts Banquets, Annual Marine banquet (when NSA first came to Ft. Meade), Oyster Roasts, served refreshments at Donkey ball and State Fire Chiefs meetings also State Forestry. Wedding receptions, Anniversary & Birthday parties, Gun & Train shows, Baseball Card Shows, Candy Making & Sales, Flea Markets and other catering jobs the Auxiliary took on. The men’s graduation banquets each year, annual Bull Roast and Shrimp Feast.

  Grace and some of our other members helped at the Odenton Health Clinic (which at the time was in the basement of the Odenton Elementary School, with their dental program.

  Grace worked with the Red Cross during World War II. They took care of food rations and medical supplies and went to the Black Out Shelters during Air Raids. (Civil Defense Program.)

  She worked at our annual Spring Hat Show and Sales (Robinson Department Store supplied hats, gloves, bags, etc.) and luncheon, participating in the Hat Contest for Fire Prevention. Prepared drinks and food and delivered to fire location during annual brush fires each spring plus any other two alarm fire that our boys were out fighting.

  Took part in Memorial Day Services that the Ladies and Firemen had at Nichols Bethel Church in the 50’s. Ladies dressed in uniform (marching unit uniforms) and men in their full dress uniform, also participated in the Special Firemen and Ladies Services for Fire Prevention at Nichols Bethel, dressed in uniform.

  Grace marched in the Ladies Marching unit for firemen parades at annual carnivals, in our county plus statewide. Paraded in Baltimore at the Maryland Day, I am an American Day Parade. Fire Prevention Week in Baltimore City, Maryland State Fair opening.

  Received letter of appreciation from Girl Scouts and Day Care Center for having presented Fire Prevention programs.

  Conducted many of our Memorial services for our deceased Ladies. Installed many of our Officers in our Auxiliary plus a number in the county. Attended County and State meetings. (Years ago State Ladies Spring and Fall conferences were held in hotels in Baltimore.)

  Ladies Auxiliary to the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association.
    Worked way through the chairs to become President 1970-1971
    Committees served on:  Membership, Convention, Publicity, Reservation, Parliamentarian, Ways and Means, Sunshine, Installation.

    The 1987 Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association Convention Book was dedicated to Grace Knight. Grace was very honored. Grace marched in the Anne Arundel County Convention parades a number of years with the Odenton Ladies Auxiliary Marching Unit.

  Ladies Auxiliary to the Maryland State Firemen’s Association
    Committees served on: Ways and Means, Credentials, Sunshine, Judge & Tellers, Publicity, Pins & Badges, County Organizer. Served as a Page for one of the Presidents, Attended many State Conventions and enjoyed each one.
