Shirley Kotzin
Eastport Ladies Auxilairy
Past President AACVFALA 1984-1985
Shirley joined the Eastport Ladies Auxiliary in 1947 and enjoyed fifty years of dedicated and loyal service to the Auxiliary. Dolores Monch, a member of Eastport at the time, was the encouraging force to get Shirley to become an active member. The Eastport fire station was located on Second Street then.
The Auxiliary conducted fundraisers consisting of dinners, bingo and other miscellaneous events on a weekly basis. Shirley always volunteered to help.
She served in all of the offices in the Eastport Auxiliary as well as all offices in the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firemen’s Association Ladies Auxiliary, and held the office of President from 1984-1985.
This lady remained quite active until health problems precluded her participating any longer. She was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever possible.
