Special awards or recognition received from the many wonderful people she met while serving was the most cherished.
Dee was the first person to hold office in the county from Eastport, she continued to fill the offices and became President of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firemen’s Association 1960-1961 and performed her duties in an exemplary manner. She was President of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Maryland State Firemen’s Association 1967-1968. Most of us vividly describe Dee as the “Hat Lady”
