Debbie Schlotterbeck

  Debbie is a member of the Auxiliary of the Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company since 1994. She has been an active member since the beginning, and has served in many capacities within the auxiliary. She was elected Vice President in 1999 and served as President for three years from January 2000 until December 2002.

  Debbie chose not to continue to serve in the office of President in order to devote all of her time to being President of the Anne Arundel County Ladies Auxiliary. While serving in the offices at the county level, Debbie still found time to continue her duties with the Lake Sore VFC auxiliary as well.

  Debbie has been instrumental in recruiting new members and also in retaining those who were members. As President of the LSVFC Auxiliary she always took the time to hear and validate another's complaints/problems, but it never stopped there. Debbie always worked very hard to solve those problems to the satisfaction of the auxiliary and the individual(s) involved. Debbie remains active in the LSVFC Auxiliary serving on the auditing committee, handling our monthly tromboli and acting as our Sunshine Committee. She is always willing to help with any committee, whether it's baking for a function, helping out with bingo, helping to clean up after events or even cleaning the fire equipment.

  Both during her terms as President and now, Debbie would never ask anyone of us to do anything that she herself was not willing to do. She was instrumental in getting a picture taken in front of the U.S. Capital building to commemorate the date 50 years after a similar picture was taken of the auxiliary in 1949. The pictures are now mounted and framed and hang on the wall of the fire hall.

  Debbie is married, has two daughters, one son and two grandchildren.
