NAME:   Josephine Seifert

ADDRESS:

NAME OF AUXILIARY:   Brooklyn Community

YEARS OF SERVICE: Over 50 yrs.

OFFICES HELD WITHIN THE AUXILARY: President, Secretary

COMMENTS: Josephine was one of the original members of the Brooklyn Community Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She worked bingos, carnivals (mostly as a cashier n the ticket booth), and other fundraisers held by the Brooklyn Community Auxiliary. She worked very hard at all she undertook. Years ago when Brooklyn would take one of their engines to the schools for May Day and other events, Josephine would be one of the members distributing fire prevention information to the children. She was a member of her auxiliary’s marching unit that was in existence for approximately ten years. The members marched rain or shine. Even though she could be controversial at times, she always worked for the best end result for the betterment of the company and one that was suitable to all. She served as Brooklyn’s primary delegate at the county and state meetings and conventions and kept her auxiliary abreast of all the upcoming events and pertinent information of both the county and state auxiliary. She has ensured the county and state dues were paid to this day even though their auxiliary is no longer active. Josephine holds the distinction of being the oldest living Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association having served from 1944-1946.
