Barbara Smith

 Barbara Smith joined the Earleigh Heights Ladies Auxiliary as a teenager and has been a member of the Auxiliary for 44-years.  Barbara’s mother was Helen Shiroky who played a major role in her membership.  Two of Barbara’s daughters are Life Members – Kim Smith Holloway and Helen Smith Thomas.  They are both Past Presidents of Earleigh Heights and Helen is the current President of the Earleigh Heights Auxiliary.  Barbara met her husband, Bill, at Earleigh Heights when she was only 17-years old.  Bill had over 55-years of service with the Earleigh Heights Fire Company where he served as Chief, President, Vice President, and Secretary and was very active with the fire department until his death three years ago.

 Barbara has held the offices of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Sergeant-at-Arms.  She also has been on the Ways and Means, Sunshine, Storeroom, Entertainment, and Auditing committees in the 44-years she has been a member.  Barbara has been active in the County Ladies Auxiliary as well.

 She is currently very active with the Auxiliary.  She is always there to work bingo, bull roasts, carnivals, or whatever fundraiser is going on.  She can be found in the kitchen making oyster stew and oyster fritters for the bull roast or making the pizzas for our carnival.  She is definitely a key member that helps keep our Auxiliary together.
