I had the pleasure (most of the time), working on the same shift as Les at Oldtown. He was a very good chief and watched out for his men, and if he had to let you know that you screwed up, it was always done in private. He treated everyone the same, no matter rank, etc.

After nearly 50 years in fire protection and fire safety training, I look back fondly to AA Co. and especially to Riva VFD where I got "bitten" in 1958, and I've never regretted anything since.
Fondest regards to all at Riva, and to any members of Independant Hose when it responded from Duke of Gloucester/Market St.
Keep safe.
