Clifton M. “Cliff” Odendhal, III joined the Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company in 2001 as a firefighter. He was elected to their Board of Directors in 2005 and served for six years.
Cliff moved to Ferndale in 2006 and joined the FVFC on June 6, 2009. He is a dedicated firefighter and Emergency Medical Technical. He is a member of the shirt committee. He received the President’s award in 2016 for his dedication to the FVFC. He is one of FVFC’s delegates to the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighter’s Association (AACVFA) meetings.
Cliff is very active in the AACVFA. He was elected Sargent at Arms in 2013 and continues in that position. He has been chairperson of the RENFEST committee since 2013 and continues in that position. Every weekend during RENFEST, Cliff is at the festival taking care of business and making money for the Association. He takes care of all the scheduling and prework leading up to the festival. He has been on the Recruitment and Retention committee since 2014 and continues to serve on this active committee. Cliff is also on the Constitution and By-laws committee and has been since 2013. He helps at all the Association fundraisers without hesitation.
Cliff regularly attends the bi-monthly meetings of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighter’s Association meetings as an officer of the AACVFA. He assists the ladies when needed without hesitation.
Cliff is active in the Maryland State Firemen’s Association (MSFA). He attends the annual convention whenever possible. He served on the MSFA Retention and Recruitment committee under Joe Chornock.
Cliff is a very hard worker and will assist any company that needs help. He is a devoted family man with a heart of gold.
