Michelle B. Bell of the Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company (LSVFC) was inducted in the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association (AACVFA) Hall of Fame on September 5, 2025.
Michelle has been a member of the LSVFC and Auxiliary for almost 20 years. Michelle joined the LSVFC and Auxiliary in October 2006. Michelle was also a member of Herald Harbor Volunteer Fire Department for a short time. Michelle hit the ground running earning her Emergency Medical Technician credentials and then Ambulance Technician Driver Attendant. She regularly staffs A209 on the weekends and during company special events. This has earned her LSVFC Top Emergency Medical Services Responder over numerous years including most recently for the year 2024.
Michelle is currently serving on the LSVFC Board of Directors. She has served as a delegate representing the company to the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association (AACVFA) meetings and lead delegate to the Maryland State Firefighters Association conventions.
Michelle serves on numerous committees in both the LSVFC and Auxiliary. Michelle took over the AACVFA Ways and Means Chair in 2016 and 2017. She organized two of the AACVFA St. Patrick’s Day Bull and Oyster Roasts and assisted with the annual event since its inception.
Michelle has worked tirelessly assisting with fundraising and community events to include Crab Feast, Pit Beef sales, Carnival, monthly bingo, Scrapbooking, Calendar sales, and the LSVFC annual Salute to Veterans Dinner. Recently, Michelle assisted with the Bull and Shrimp Feast and Sportsman Bingo. When LSVFC hosted the AACVFA convention over several different years, Michelle was there assisting with the planning and executing of the events.
Michelle has been an invaluable member of the LSVFC family. She enjoys giving back to the community. Michelle does not shy away from hard work; she pitches in and helps wherever needed. Her nearly 20-years of service to the community and the volunteer fire service make her most deserving for induction in the AACVFA Hall of Fame.
