NICOLE ORGANEK
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION
FIREFIGHTER/EMT/ADMINISTRATIVE MEMBER OF THE QUARTER - 2010
Nicole Organek received the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association Firefighter/ EMT/Administrative Member of the Quarter Award in April 2010.
Nicole joined the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company (OVFC) as an administrative member in June 2008, and immediately began looking for work to do.
Nicole has set a new standard for administrative members. Although she lives over thirty miles from the firehouse, she comes in several times per week to work with various board and line officers on projects that she has either taken on or created herself based on a perceived need. These projects have included, but are not limited to, tracking/organizing/compiling company training reports, hosting public education events, tracking, and organizing ambulance reports, and initiating and organizing a Red Cross blood drive. Nicole also serves on the Membership Committee, where she meets with prospective new members, organizes, and tracks their paperwork, and interfaces with the Volunteer Coordinator to keep track of their status.
Nicole is also a regular member of a duty crew, assisting the duty night officer with all the necessary administrative work, as well as regular housework and training. On top of all these activities, Nicole is currently enrolled in the EMT program, and is working toward becoming an active riding member.
Nicole is a valued and highly dedicated member of the OVFC contributing to the organization and the community in a variety of ways.
