Firefighter/EMT/Administrative Member of the Quarter
The officers and member of the Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company take pleasure in nominatign Firefighter/EMT Jesse Wright, Jr and Firefighter/EMT Tina Wright for the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters' Association Firefighter/EMT/Administrative Member of the Quarter Award.
Jesse and Tina Wright joined the Lake Shore Vounteer Fire Copnay in December 2008 and quickly became active in department operations completing Maryland Fire Rescue Institute Firefighter I, Emergency Medical Technician, and Hazardous Materials Operations courses and becoming active responders. They becam active in the administration at Lake Shore serving on the Board of Directors. Tina currently serves ad the company Secretary and Jesse serves as the Vice-President.
Jesse and Tina serve as advisors to the Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company's Junior Firefighter Program. The Junior Firefighter Program consist of 14 members between ages of 12 and 15. The program prepares the future firefighter, EMTs and administrative member of our company. The juniors participate in nearly all activities of the department. They assist with fundraising and public fire and life safety education events. They atrain in first responder skills and learn valuable leadership skills that they put into practice by electing their own leadership.
Jesse and Tina revive dthe program and expanded it from more than just family members by recruiting from around the community. Since the beginning of the Juniors program a number of its former members have gone on to become active responding firefighter and EMTs as well as administrative and Auxiliary members.
Jesse and Tina Wright exemplify the definition of servant leadership and are most deserving candidates for the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters' Associaiton Firefighter/EMT/Administrative Memeber of the Quarter Award.
