To Whom It May Concern:
I would like to nominate Firefighter II Ramy El-Lissy, Arundel Volunteer Fire Department, for the AACVFA Outstanding Member of the Quarter award. FFII El-Lissy has served with the Department since early 2021, during which time he attained certification and completed in-house clearance as an EMT, Firefighter I/II, and Rescue Technician. He has demonstrated exceptional commitment to both the Department and to the fire service, easily mastering the required knowledge and skills, both in-training and on the fireground.
FFII El-Lissy consistently performs above and beyond all expectations, and has redefined the standards for dedication to the volunteer service. Throughout 2022, FFII El-Lissy achieved top responder status, responding to over 1330 emergency calls on the suppression apparatus and the ambulance, vastly exceeding all other volunteer and career staff. He is currently a live-in at the Station and logged well over 4000 hours during 2022, ensuring the apparatus are in-service, staffed, and able to respond to the community at all times. He is always the first to volunteer for any task, and in addition to his extensive commitments operationally, he has also stepped up to take on the responsibilities of Treasurer for the Company for 2023. He is hardworking, and exhibits the highest level of integrity, earning the trust and respect of his fellow firefighters.
Beyond the professionalism and expertise FFII El-Lissy displays on every call, he routinely provides training and mentorship to his peers, ensuring that new members are educated and qualified to the high standards we expect from our Firefighters and EMTs. He has spent countless hours, many times late into the night, demonstrating how to pull hand lines, conduct RIT evolutions, stabilize and extricate from vehicles, and perform essential medical skills.
FFII El-Lissy has distinguished himself as an indispensable resource, willing to share his knowledge to develop the next generation of members at Company 7, and exemplifies the model of selfless service to the community and his fellow members. FFII El-Lissy is an invaluable asset to the Arundel Volunteer Fire Department and to the community we serve, and has demonstrated that he is more than deserving of the AACVFA Outstanding Member of the Quarter award. I am honored to submit his nomination, and highly recommend him without reservation. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Respectfully submitted,
Eric March Gregory Hintz Steve Race
