Woodland Beach Volunteer Fire Department AACVFA Outstanding Member of the Quarter Nomination To: Outstanding Member of the Quarter Committee Greetings The Woodland Beach Volunteer Fire Department (WBVFD) nominates EMT, WBVFD Treasurer, and AACVFA Trustee Melissa Boe for the AACVFA Outstanding Member of the Quarter. ATDA-EMT/Trustee Boe is an operational and administrative member of the WBVFD and a Trustee for the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firemans Association (AACVFA) and has served the citizens of Anne Arundel County for more than 5 years. She is a keystone member of the department and regularly staffs and responds on calls on the WBVFD Ambulance 29. Ms. Boe is the first to respond for volunteer upstaffing, weather, and special event requests and responded to more than 150 calls in 2023. She serves on the Renn Fest Committee as the recording secretary and is an active participant in Renn Fest First Aid standbys. Ms. Boe particularly excels as an administrative member. She is the department treasurer as well as a member of the WBVFD Board of Directors. Ms. Boe spends hours every week attending to the financial health and daily financial activities of the fire department, ensuring departmental funds are fully accounted for and expended within county and departmental guidelines. In addition, Ms. Boe works closely with the leadership of WBVFD to plan, finance, and execute capital projects to include replacement of Rescue Squad 2 and the pending construction of new Station 2. Ms. Boe is a member of the AACVFA as a Trustee and is actively serving the volunteers of Anne Arundel County as a valued member of the leadership team. The Officers, Leadership, and Members of the WBVFD appreciate the committee’s attention to this nomination for an outstanding, productive and deserving member of the department.
