Greetings

The Edgewater Volunteer Fire Department (EVFD) nominates FF2/EMT Logan Gatling for the AACVFA Outstanding Member of the Quarter.

FF2/EMT Logan Gatling is an operational and administrative member of the EVFD. FF2 Gatling has served the citizens of Anne Arundel County as an active, dedicated volunteer for more than 3 years.  He is a keystone member of the department and regularly staffs and responds on calls on EVFD Ambulance 29, Engine 2-1/2-2, Rescue Squad 2 and Fireboat 2.  FF2/EMT Gatling is the first to respond for volunteer upstaffing, weather, and special event requests and responded to more than 100 calls in 2025.  He serves as the chairman of the EVFD Junior Member training team, growing the next generation of EMS and firefighters.

FF2/EMT Gatling particularly excels as an operational member.  He is a top responder for EMS, fire, rescue and marine calls and mentors and trains new operational members ensuring their skills and knowledge are ready for joint EMS and fire operations.  Recently he provided staffing during the most recent snow/ice storm.  He participates in many of the department’s fundraiser and administrative activities.

The Officers, Leadership, and Members of the EVFD appreciate the committee’s attention to this nomination for an outstanding, productive and deserving member of the department.
